ASACP Partners With Stormy Daniels for RTA PSA

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP), in partnership with adult star Stormy Daniels, has released a second public service announcement (PSA) for the Restricted to Adults (RTA) website label.

Daniels is a Wicked Pictures contract performer, writer and director, and donated her services to shoot the PSA. XFANZ donated its time to edit the videos.

The new video is available at YouTube.com/ASACPRTA, and features Daniels reminding her webmaster to use an RTA website label.

The PSA follows another video released last month, which encouraged parents to use filtering software.

According to the organization, ASACP's PSA series will continue throughout the year with additional videos featuring different adult entertainment stars.

In the wake of recent obscenity charges against Evil Angel, including one count of using an interactive computer service to display an obscene movie trailer in a manner available to a person under 18 years of age, ASACP is also urging its supporters to help spread the word about adopting the RTA website label by featuring the PSA on their websites.

"When attacking the adult entertainment industry, the government often attempts to blur the lines between consenting adults and exposure to children," Attorney Lawrence G. Walters said. "As we see time and time again — most recently with the obscenity prosecution against Evil Angel — the government tries to recast the debate in terms of protecting children, instead of preserving the rights of adults to access erotic expression.

The RTA device is one example of the industry's voluntary effort to address the concern of minors' access to age-restricted material," Walters added. "This issue should be taken seriously, and addressed by implementing robust age verification procedures."

According to the organization, the first PSA has already been viewed over 20,000 times on YouTube, while a video that ASACP produced last summer featuring highlights from a press conference announcing RTA has been viewed over 120,000 times.

"By labeling with RTA, adopting ASACP's best practices and supporting ASACP as a member or sponsor, you can protect children and your business at the same time," ASACP CEO Joan Irvine said.

Plans are underway to make ASACP's PSA series available in formats that can be used on cable networks and on DVDs.
