Karch's 30-Minute 'Insertz' at CineKink NYC Fest

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Veteran director Roy Karch's 30-minute version of his 2006 feature "Insertz" will show at the annual CineKink NYC festival in New York.

"Insertz" will be part of a short-subject presentation called "Lust, Animation!" on March 1.

"It's the East Coast premiere," Karch told XBIZ. "The West Coast premiere was at the XFANZ L.A. Erotic Film Fest. It was well received there, and I'm hoping for the same response in New York. I left the dialogue intact, and the six sex scenes are all montaged in slow motion. As the dialogue leads to sex we go to sex for a bit — and then back to the dialogue. It plays like a short film, completely different from the hardcore version.

"I want it to be seen wherever it can be seen."

The full-length hardcore version of "Insertz," which was nominated for Best Feature Video at the 2008 XBIZ Awards, is an adult homage to a 1976 mainstream movie with a similar name. It stars Aurora Snow, Nicole Sheridan, Paulina James, Mika Tan, Emily Evermore, Herschel Savage, Jay Ashley and Voodoo as the "Boy Wonder," a part played in the mainstream film by Richard Dreyfuss.

Founded in 2002, the CineKink organization recognizes and encourages the positive depiction of sexuality and kink in film and television. Its annual film festival, CineKink NYC, runs from Feb. 26-March 2 this year.

Works presented at CineKink NYC "range from documentary to drama, camp comedy to hot porn and everything in between," and the festival also includes a gala kickoff fundraiser, a short film competition, audience choice awards, presentations and parties.
