Amy Fisher: 'The Adult Industry Has Embraced Me'

LAS VEGAS — One-time newsmaker Amy Fisher is in the news again with a sex tape that was recorded by her husband and released on DVD by Red Light District. Now a concert and nightclub promoter and a mother of two, Fisher was at AEE to promote the DVD.

"I'm really proud of it," Fisher told XBIZ. "I wasn't so happy when it was released, but once it got out there and I saw it, and became a little more comfortable with it and comfortable with my sexuality, I'm cool with it."

She is enjoying her new notoriety.

"I think the show is great. I'm having more fun than I've ever had in my entire life," she said. "Next year I'll be back. I'm sure I'll be up for an award." Fisher made the tapes at home, voluntarily, for her own viewing.

"My husband's a video producer. We have cameras around. We have fun, and we'd look at them after we filmed them. It's kind of erotic. We had a good time with them for a couple of years, and now the public is having a real good time with them."

Fisher's husband sold the tapes to Red Light District when the couple was getting a divorce. They have since reconciled, but "I never want to say I'm happy for the rest of my life because you never know. Things can happen so fast. I was so upset when I first heard about it but it turned around where I'm happy and it's been a really great experience. "

There may be more Amy Fisher DVDs on the horizon.

"He sold Red Light the entire library, and they can do whatever they want. There's about 1.000 hours of footage. I don't know what they're going to do."

Fisher is pleased with the reception she has gotten from the adult industry. "The adult industry has been a lot kinder to me than the mainstream media. The adult industry can focus on sex, today. I'm 33 years old and I have a three-year old kid, and they can understand that. The mainstream media, to them I'm still a little girl in pigtails. They don't get with the times. They should leave it where it is, but they don't.

"In a way this is my new home and I'm a lot happier here."

Fisher will be signing at the Red Light District booth through the end of AEE. The XFANZ interview with Amy Fisher can be seen here.
