Joe Brandi Leaves KSEX

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — KSEX Vice President Joe Brandi, who joined the Internet radio station May 10 after the on-air dismissal of program director Wayne C. "Wankus" Lewis, resigned in an on-air phone call to program director Lorraine "Lorrainiac" Summers on her show last night.

"In business sometimes you just disagree on issues," Brandi told XBIZ. "It happens all the time. I just decided that the path KSEX is going I don't want to go down. [KSEX owner Jon Belinkie and I] have different opinions on how to run a business, different ways on dealing with people.

"I think this is the best way to leave. No hard feelings. It's just a business decision I had to make at this point in my life."

"We're sorry to see him go, and we wish him well." KSEX owner Jon Belinkie told XBIZ. "Like the rest of the world, I found out last night that Joe was leaving, when I got his email... It's an opportunity for somebody with the right talents to make the place sing. We're excited about the future. We're disappointed that Joe won't be there to share it with us, but that's his choice."

KSEX, which broadcasts new programming Monday through Friday, is starting a holiday break Dec. 21 and will resume Jan. 2.

"I figured if I did it now it would give them some time to get back on their feet and find someone to deal with the sponsors, advertisers, website, public relations … all the things that I was doing there," Brandi said.

Program director Summers was unavailable for comment.
