“When I was asked to do the holiday cover for Xcitement I said yes immediately because this is my favorite time of the year and dressing up like Santa’s little helper in sexy attire seemed a bit naughty and nice at the same time,” Lane said.
The interview, by Cindi Loftus, Lane talks about how she started her adult career as a feature dancer at the Déjà Vu gentlemen’s club in Tampa, Fla., where she won Showgirl of the Year in 2004.
Now, as the first contract entertainer for the club chain, Lane will launch her “Girl Next Door Tour” for 2008, and visit 80 clubs worldwide, including appearances at Déjà Vu, Hustler, Little Darlings, Showgirls and Dreamgirls clubs. She also will sign at several Déjà Vu boutiques, as well as appear in print advertising for the chain.
Lane, who also hosts a “The Sunny Side of Porn” talk show on KSEX Radio, on Wednesday nights, told Loftus that she hopes for more mainstream attention, to be able to shine a positive light on the adult industry.
“I was on ABC and Primetime, and passed on a positive message about our industry and what we are doing, and how America is repressed about our sexuality. Mainstream is coming over to us,” Lane said.
Referring to the Primetime segment, which focused primarily on the business and personal relationship between Lane and her parents, the star said, “That was my parent’s whole thing. Spend a little time with your children. Teach your kids about your past, present, future, about sex, drugs, alcohol, what goes on in your life. Don’t sugar coat it. Be real with your children. Then they won’t go to other people to try to figure it out. That was our whole message.”
Lane also said that for Christmas, she would like an electric blue Escalade with navigational system and a promotional magnet that says “Sunny Lane” on the side. She also would like a new video camera to shoot content for her website, and “a beautiful, prosperous, healthy and no stress New Year.”
