WantedList.com Acquires Xflix.com, Launches VOD Service

LOS ANGELES — Adult DVD rental service WantedList.com has acquired video-on-demand provider Xflix.com.

The takeover, according to WantedList.com, is part of an aggressive campaign to move the company forward into new media distribution and expand the presence of the company into the digital marketplace.

"As we progress into digital distribution to complement the physical goods market, this purchase was a great opportunity for our company," WantedList.com cofounder Anh Tran said. "XFlix has a long history, with great people behind them. They have a strong domain, and their partnership with Media Conductor brings incredible value. The technology is extremely cutting edge and the video player is something that hasn't been seen in the market as of yet. "

The system uses MediaConductor.com streaming technology, and allows members to view more than 3,500 adult titles in an on-demand format. The company plans also on offering varying types of hybrid rental and VOD plans for its existing user base.

WantedList also will be offering various bonus payouts to affiliate webmasters for promoting the new service.

WantedList.com’s DVD rental service was cofounded by Tran and Danny Ting and offers more than 20,000 adult titles as well as consumer reviews, original editorials, new releases, performer pages and the Pornotron search tool.

The company was named Web Retailer of the Year at the 5th Annual XBIZ Awards in 2007, and also is a corporate sponsor of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP).
