AEBN Pitches Niches

CHARLOTTE, NC – Video-on-demand pioneer AEBN has added several niche categories to its movie galleries and free daily clips sections, promising further expansion and specialization this summer.

Included in its 70 galleries of free clips are 12 new niches, including Eurogirl and Gay Dildo. The over-5,000 hosted movie galleries will be increased by nine, including Big Butt and Torture.

“If we even get a couple of phone calls from webmasters asking us for hard-to-find content, we put that on the to-do list,” AEBN director of advertising Bishop told XBiz. “Our entire content group is always looking for the 'Next Big Thing.'”

The Charlotte company has grown to 150 employees in its five years of operation, instituting the now-standard pay-per-minute model. All the data encoding is performed on site, and then the hard drives are taken less than a mile away to a data center that, Bishop said, grew exponentially as AEBN grew.

“We’ve become a major Charlotte employer,” Bishop said.

The content market tends to grow by subdivision. What might have been an element of a larger category one year ago is now a niche unto itself, with its own considerable fan base and web site network.

AEBN and companies like it search internationally for content that will feed new, high-converting niches. “The better the tools we provide webmasters,” Bishop said, “the better they can target their customers.”
