Ruby Tan Becomes ASACP's Director of Membership

LOS ANGELES — Industry veteran Ruby Tan has joined ASACP as director of membership. Tan will be in charge of creating relationships with new sponsors and will be involved with ASACP’s strategic development.

Before coming to ASACP, Tan worked in Playboy TV's affiliate relations and special markets department and in the sales departments at E! Entertainment and CBS Television. Tan also has a background in marketing and promotion from working at Clear Channel Communications/KYLD and at KPWR Power 106 FM.

“I’m extremely excited about my new position with ASACP and I feel that my experience in corporate sales and marketing will be a great addition to the organization," Tan told XBIZ. "At my previous position with Playboy TV, I had worked with the adult industry as well as corporate cable and satellite providers in Canada so I’m very enthusiastic to talk about ASACP’s efforts to all my contacts.

“There are quite a few tasks that ASACP has for the future and with help from Executive Director Joan Irvine and the staff, I’m quite eager in getting those goals accomplished.”

“Thanks to the support of our sponsors and members, ASACP has made great strides in protecting children and educating the industry about our efforts," Irvine told XBIZ. "Now, it is time to educate legislators about what we do. With Ruby on board, this will allow ASACP to focus on this edification in 2008.”

Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online.
