Playboy Prime Debuts to Reach 18- to 34-Year-Olds

LOS ANGELES — Playboy TV has introduced Playboy Prime, a new prime-time format designed to appeal to the short-form preferences of 18- to 34-year-old male viewers, its key demographic.

The three-hour Playboy Prime bloc, which runs from 8-11 p.m. nightly, is made up of short five-to-13-minute long segments taken from Playboy TV programs including "Totally Busted," "Naked Happy Girls" and "Sexcetera." They are augmented by new segments including "The Playboy Radio Minute," uncensored video from the studios of Playboy's Sirius Satellite radio channel; "Hot Babes Doing Stuff Naked," from scenarios emailed from viewers including house cleaning, tennis playing, skeet shooting, mechanical bull riding and deep sea fishing; and "Playboy News."

"They're grouped into one-hour themes, with titles like 'Guns 'n' Poses,' 'Of Mice and Babes,' and 'It's a Nude, Nude, Nude, Nude World,'" Playboy publicist Matt Kalinowski told XBIZ.

A new comedy series, "Canoga Park," will premiere on the channel in November. It chronicles the misadventures of an adult film mogul and his crew as he dreams of producing the ultimate adult film blockbuster.

Following Playboy Prime at 11 p.m., Playboy TV's Playboy Late Night offers couples-oriented adult feature films, the Playboy TV-produced show "Naughty Amateur Home Videos," and a new short-form series from "Red Shoe Diaries" auteur Zalman King titled "Conversations with Women I Know… About Sex."

Playboy TV is owned and operated by Playboy Enterprises Inc. It operates the channels Playboy TV, Playboy en Espanol and Playboy HD, which are offered on pay-per-view and subscription VOD through cable, satellite and IPTV systems.
