Paradise Holds 'The Make Up' Release Party in Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Classic adult-video company Paradise Visuals will celebrate the release of "The Make Up," its first new release in more than 15 years, at a party Friday night in Las Vegas.

“We're doing these grassroots promotions to get the word out," Spencer Benedict, director of "The Make Up," told XBIZ. "We made sure it was free so that anyone who wanted to go could.

"The movie is about a couple that's having relationship problems — the guy wants to get married, the girl wants to break up — so the guy's father recommends a resort for troubled couples that turns out to be a place for swingers, and hijinks ensue."

The party will take place at The Dive Bar, located at 3035 E Tropicana Ave. in Las Vegas. Activities include prize giveaways, a live concert from The Sin City Sinners, featuring Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns and Brent Muscat, formerly of Faster Pussycat; and an autograph signing with Felix Vicious, Randy West, Caroline Pierce, John Wayne Bobbitt and Jocelyn Pink.

The party is free and open to the public. It starts at 10 p.m., and The Sinners are scheduled to play at 11 p.m.

In 2005, Paradise Visuals began releasing its library of vintage films and videos on DVD, with titles including "Ginger Lynn The Movie," which was Christy Canyon's first feature, and John Holmes’ last, "The Devil in Mr. Holmes." Paradise plans to release more classic DVDs in 2008.
