Los Angeles Erotica Film Fest Gets Dirty All Weekend

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Erotica Film Fest will run Saturday and Sunday at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, Calif., and showcase more than 70 erotic films.

The Fest accepted award-winning shorts from major film festivals, submissions from the adult entertainment industry, new works by R. Kern, Bruce LaBruce, Martha Colburn, Eon McKai, Joe Gantz, ("Taxicab Confessions"), Roy Karch and Bad Otis Link, and the premiere of “Llik Your Idols” featuring Lydia Lunch, Thurston Moore, Richard Kern and Nick Zedd.

"The first year of every festival can be a real sonofabitch. Not enough good films, too much room for amateur hour," Fest Programming Director Roger Mayer told XBIZ. "but we brought in some real experts in the slippery slope of arthouse erotica and managed to pull off a coup.

"We have films that have screened at Sundance, Tribeca, Cannes and Los Angeles film festivals, underground classics from NYC's 'Cinema of Transgression,' retro classics from the vaunted blue movie days and a whole wave of BDSM flicks that'll bring you to your knees. It's an eclectic showcase of innovative and well-crafted pornography."

Performers scheduled to appear include Kylie Ireland, Joanna Angel, Nicki Hunter, Marilyn Chambers, Seka, Ron Jeremy, Dana DeArmond, Adam & Eve Contract performers Ava Rose and Bree Olson, Wicked Pictures contract performer/director Stormy Daniels, Sunny Lane and Belladonna.

The opening-night party will feature the music of The Mutaytor and the sexy acrobatics of Cirque Berserk. Proceeds from the party will benefit the b.a.b.e. foundation, Breast Awareness Benefits Everyone, which is committed to funding breast cancer research and educational programs, especially in the areas of early detection and prevention. Tickets for the party can be purchased at the door while they last. The full list of films, a schedule of the entire weekend’s activities and ticket purchasing information can be found at EroticaFilmFest.com.
