Japanese Adult Producers Caught in Thailand

BANGLAMUNG, Thailand — Investigators and police in the resort area of Banglamung arrested the cast and crew of a Japanese adult movie production on Sept. 6, who were filming in abandoned shacks on the beach, next to Tang-Kae Restaurant in Naklua, Chonburi.

Police allegedly noticed several Thai and Japanese people congregated outside the location and questioned them. As police investigated further they found a Thai male performer and Japanese female performer being filmed while having sex.

Members of the cast and crew were arrested and faced charges of producing pornography for commercial distribution and possible fines of up to $185 and/or three years in prison.

The director of the production, Takeshi Matsuo, was questioned and told police that he had been living in Thailand for more than 20 years. He told them also that he was hired by a company called S.O.D. to find locations, recruit performers and supervise production of an adult movie for 9,000 Thailand baht a day, or roughly $275 in U.S. dollars.

Matsuo hired three Thai male performers at the rate of $62 a day, while the rest of the cast and crew traveled from Japan for the production. Reportedly, the location of shacks on the beach was rented for little more than $1,500.
