“I’m happier than hell,” ABV managing partner Rob Ragan told XBIZ. “Bill Gardner is a very respected man in the industry, and he paved the way for other companies — Treasure Island Media and SX Video and a lot of other bareback companies — to be able to do what they do. He paved the way with Hot Desert Knights.”
Ragan, who has a long history in gay distribution, had worked previously with HDK and company founder Bill Gardner. So, when the opportunity to work together was presented with ABV, Gardner said he jumped at the chance.
“Rob has a 20-year background in the industry. Having Dave onboard with his contacts — it’s really exciting,” Gardner told XBIZ. “He’s already working deals for us in Australia and South Africa. He’s already got a deal with Eurocreme, for example, who are very excited about carrying our products. Rob is a hustler — on our first release we’ve had to double the order because of what he has presold.”
According to Ragan, HDK makes selling their product a no-brainer with their professional demeanor and by providing promotional materials for retailers. He said also that in order to stay visible in an increasingly competitive market, both the studio and distributor have to work together in order to establish and maintain a strong brand.
“Raw Retreat Weekend” will be followed by the release of “Jarod Steele’s Buckets of Cum” in late September.
