Free Speech Coalition Sets Piracy Task Force

CANOGA PARK, Calif. — The Free Speech Coalition Board of Directors created a task force to study and address the issue of piracy in the adult entertainment industry at its June 30 board meeting.

“Piracy hurts our members’ bottom line,” FSC Executive Director Diane Duke said. “When we say that we are the watchdog for the industry, we don’t just mean from government intrusion. We are the watchdog for anything that stands in the way of our members’ success.”

Plans call for FSC to determine the level of impact piracy has on each segment of the adult industry. After analyzing the information, the task force will develop and prioritize solutions that will meet the needs of their members and the industry as a whole.

"It's long overdue, and good luck to them. I hope we can pursue and knock some more of these pirates out," Evil Angel General Manager Chris Norman told XBIZ. "Evil Angel has been actively pursuing it, but I know there are a lot more of these pirates out there who are making the adult industry a very difficult place to do business in at the moment.

"I'm very happy other people are taking it seriously."

Evil Angel and Jules Jordan recently won a $17.5 million judgment in a piracy and copyright infringement case.
