Bugbees to Work With Adam Curry for Yearlong Road Trip

CHICAGO — Church of Satan adult director Shane Bugbee and wife Amy will embark on a yearlong road trip in a biodiesel car donated by mainstream radio host Adam Curry, who will sponsor the trip.

Bugbee told XBIZ that his idea is to travel around the country and interview people from all corners about their political opinions and issues that matter to them. As he shoots footage, segments will be aired on Curry's Podsafe Music Network .

"Videocasting is like having your own TV and radio station," Bugbee said. "It's the power to go right to the people."

Bugbee, whose jack-of-all-trades career includes work in the soda pop industry and running an independent zine, said he plans to make his video podcasts a sort of zine for the iPod generation.

He said that he called up Curry's radio station to pitch his road trip podcast idea and soon after met with one of his producers to finalize its concept.

Bugbee's original idea was to drive a donated Prius during his road trip, but when Curry offered his 1984 Mercedes station wagon run on biodiesel fuel, Bugbee said he jumped at the chance.

"We have the option of Dumpster-diving or having some support from something like an Adam Curry who has a lot more resources," Bugbee said.

Bugbee said the road trip will begin in November and end Nov. 4, 2008 — the day of the presidential election.
