Bonanza Studios Prepares for 15 New Studios

NEW YORK — Bonanza Entertainment Group is planning to open 15 new studios in 2005 targeted at a wide variety of popular adult genres, principal owner Troy Williams told XBiz on Monday.

Based out of New York City, Bonanza’s stable of studios, which will begin primarily marketing toward the interracial and ethnic markets, is currently in talks with several major distributors and studios in Southern California, according to Williams.

“It’s a very ambitious endeavor,” Williams said. “We’re going to try to mix genres. The idea is that we’ll be producing a movie a week in the first quarter of 2005, and move up to about three to 10 a week around April or May.”

The blueprints for Bonanza Entertainment Group began to be drawn up in 1994 when Williams and partner Neil Vaughn met while working at Lion’s Den Video, an adult bookstore located in midtown Manhattan. After leaving the store, Vaughn produced two adult films and Williams attended business school.

Among the 15 studios that Bonanza plans to launch are Lion’s Den Productions, which will specialize in black-on-blonde, gonzo and wall-to-wall films; fetish-centered Bonanza Bound Productions; and Salsa Productions, which will aim primarily at Hispanic audiences and be scripted almost entirely in Spanish.

The group’s first movie, titled “Bubble Butt Babysitters,” is scheduled to begin filming at the end of January in New York. The film attempts to mix the genres of interracial, ethnic, teen and large butt, by featuring black, latin, Asian and white actresses in “untraditional schoolgirl uniforms.” All of the male actors in the film are black or latin.

“Nothing against white guys, of course,” said Williams. “If we run across someone who’s 8, 10 or even 12 inches, that’s great, but we’re going for size.”

“We want to create an arms race in the adult industry,” Williams told XBiz.
