HotMovies Lands Original Taboo Series

PHILADELPHIA, PA - National A-1 Internet, owner of HotMovies.com, is now the first and only company to legally offer streaming versions of the original Kirdy Stevens’ Taboo classics. Taboo I through Taboo IV now appear on TabooVod.com, part of National A-1’s custom VOD.com engine. Playing With Fire, another Stevens’ original and Taboo 5 will appear very soon.

Standard Digital, owners of the Taboo line have closely monitored the appeal of the Internet VOD market but had special requirements before they would make a commitment. "Because of the incredible and lasting demand for these titles, it has always been our position that if a VOD provider was to stream our titles, it would need to be done in a way that allowed us flexibility in regards to design and price points," said Standard Digital's, Jon Islas, adding that "I spoke to many Internet VOD providers over the last couple of years and HotMovies.com is the only VOD company able to meet our demands."

National A-1 Director of Business Development, James Seibert credits A-1’s proprietary VOD.com back end as the reason HotMovies.com successfully landed Taboo where others failed. "Most companies use an out of the box third party platform for serving video which is incredibly restrictive," says Seibert. "HotMovies.com spent time and money developing our own system that gives us much greater flexibility. The fact that we landed a line that is as popular and sought after as Taboo when no one else could, is a great indicator that our effort was worthwhile. I encourage Webmasters to cash in on the marketing appeal of these titles by promoting TabooVod.com through our MovieDollars.com Affiliate Program."

The original Taboo movies were released between 1980 and 1988 and were directed by AVN Hall of Famer, Kirdy Stevens. Taboo I was 1980’s highest selling video. The recent re-release of Taboo IV is nominated for two 2005 AVN Awards® including Best Classic DVD. Some of the adult industry’s most famous stars appear in the Taboo Series including Kay Parker and Ginger Lynn.
