The production takes a look at the life of an adult superstar and stars Britney Skye, as well as Katja Kassin and Tory Lane.
“Porn Star” is directed by Michael Ninn, known for “Shock,” “Latex,” “Black Orchid,” and “In the Garden of Shadows.”
Ninn says his latest video has been in the works for some time and will reflect an introspective and artistic tone.
“This movie will go into the more fragile side of the superstardom that an adult entertainment actress can experience, a side that’s not been fully exposed or explored,” Ninn said. “This movie will be flattering at times, but above all, truthful. It will question what insecurities go through a supernova’s mind.”
As for choosing Skye for the lead, the former contract director for VCA Pictures said, “You couldn’t ask for a better leading star than Britney.”
According to Ninn, a video taking a look at the daily life of a porn superstar breaks ground.
“I’m surprised it hasn’t been done sooner, and for me it’s the right time to do it,” he said.
“I think the end result will make the performers in this industry very thoughtful," said Ninn. "I think they’ll look at their lives and question the same things that I do from this movie. With every star, why are people around them? Why are they her friends, and whose interest do they have at heart — mine or theirs? Is the image I’ve become wholly what I want to be? That’s what we’re going to explore.”
“Porn Star,” distributed by Pure Play Media, is slated for release in January.
