Europe Simplifies Domain Name Registration

Luxembourg – Italy will soon join Sweden, Spain and France in relaxing their domain name registration rules in hopes of encouraging companies and individuals to register new domain names.

These changes have largely been inspired by the launch of the .eu top-level domain which provides a European-wide domain option.

According to registrar EuroDNS, many companies and individuals interested in obtaining a domain name are not aware of these recent changes which allow for an easy way to secure their desired name in Europe.

Over 28 European and other top-level domain extensions are available for registration at the EuroDNS Website (www.eurodns.com), which offers automated registration in 10 languages.

Pre-registration during the .eu TLD "sunrise period" is available at EuroDNS free of charge. This "sunrise period" gives priority to registrants with official trademarks and registered names, but will still be run on a "1st come 1st served" basis, making pre-registration vital.

According to EuroDNS, "Companies are recommended to prepare their registration application beforehand, and to verify they have the necessary registration documents to support their trademark and company/personal name registration. The pre-registration service offered by EuroDNS will enable companies to prepare their registration application ahead of the official start of the "sunrise" period."

Full details will be announced shortly.
