WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Jill Kelly Productions said Tuesday it has hired an investor relations firm to help the company tap into new equity, nearly a year after the company became public.

Looking to expand its porn empire, Jill Kelly Productions Holding Inc. made a public stock offering last month of nearly 30 million shares.

The West Hollywood, Calif.-based company has hired New York-based PortfolioPR to develop a communications strategy with the investment community and business media.

"As part of our strategic growth plan, it is extremely important that we effectively communicate with all of our important stakeholders,” Jill Kelly Productions CEO Robert Friedland told XBiz.

One of the top five adult entertainment companies in the United States, the company has nearly 300 movies under its belt and plans 100 new movies this year, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Jill Kelly Productions develops, produces, licenses and distributes adult films through retail, cable, satellite, video-on-demand and the Internet, featuring contract performers Alexis Amore, Cindy Crawford, Jenna Haze, Tyler Faith, Haven and Ashton Moore.

"Jill Kelly Productions is applying sophisticated film industry business models including mixed-mode financing, strategic mergers and acquisitions, efficiencies and dedicated quality production,” Portfolio PR spokesman Paul Holm said. “The company operates on the classic film studio model of a constellation of celebrity-stars, each with a theme-based growing collection of films and a fan following – true branding.”

The company was purchased last year by Germantown, Md.-based IDC Acquisition Corp., which spun Jill Kelly Productions off as a public company in a reverse acquisition. It had revenues of 3.9 million in 2003 but posted a loss of $9.2 million.

The studio and distributor was started in 2000 by Friedland and porn star Jill Kelly, whose real name is Adrianne D. Moore.

Kelly, 33, has appeared in more than 400 adult movies.

Jill Kelly Productions shares rose 1 cent to close at $1.41 Tuesday on the Pink Sheets.
