‘Naked News’ to Be Broadcast in Spanish

TORONTO – Naked Broadcasting Network Inc. said Monday it will broadcast in Spanish.

The Toronto-based company said it partnered with APA International Film Distributors Inc. to dub the “Naked News” weekly one-hour television program into Spanish and market that version of the program around the world.

APA of Miami will be producing two versions of "Noticias al Desnudo," one with full nudity and one with limited nudity.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are thrilled that our program will now be available to the millions of Spanish-speaking viewers in the U.S. and Latin America," Naked News Executive Producer David Warga said.

Warga told XBiz that “Naked News” is planning a Portuguese version for Brazil and Portugal as well.

Naked Broadcasting pioneered the use of naked-news broadcasting in 1999 with Nakednews.com and currently reaches 34 million on the Internet, as well as cable and satellite systems.

“Naked News” includes an ensemble of stripping female anchors; “Naked News Daily Male” was launched last month.

Both formats offer daily news and features in 22-minute formats.

The company signed a deal this month with Icemobile BV to provide “Naked News” content to wireless cell phones in Western Europe. The deal is one of many the company plans on making with next-generation wireless providers.
