MONTREAL — Maya Kendrick meets “The Other Family,” a continuation of Pure Taboo’s “Swapping Daughters” series, now in digital release.
Kendrick makes her Pure Taboo debut as Becky, a young woman whose enrollment in an unusual foreign exchange program brings her into the orbit of the Darling family, led by Doris (Dee Williams) and Doug (Mr. Pete) and their son, Davey (Seth Gamble).
Becky is soon caught up in the family’s twisted carnal traditions. “The Other Family” was directed by Craven Moorehead and produced by Bree Mills.
"We wanted to show both sides of this unsettling swap, and the very real human fears of betrayal and entrapment,” said Mills. “Maya was fantastic in her role — those uncomfortable moments onscreen were palpable — and Dee was the perfect uptight-seeming mom who suddenly flips a switch and gets that hungry, lustful look in her eyes."
