ASACP to Discuss Age Verification at The European Summit

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its return to Prague for The European Summit, scheduled for September 14-17, at the Vienna House Diplomat Hotel.

According to its promoters, The European Summit (TES) is Europe’s leading B2B conference for the online entertainment industries, uniting a diverse group of adult and digital media operators that represent dozens of countries, for networking, seminars, socializing and more. Founded in 2009, TES unites pros from the e-commerce, financials, gaming, gambling, dating, forex, binary options, health, nutraceuticals and other industries for an intensive three-day event.

“Being the father of a young old boy myself, I fully understand the benefits that ASACP’s Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label provides to parents with young children,” says TES’ Andreas Bischoff. “Therefore, we are a strong supporter of ASCAP and its goals, and would like to see our clients join forces with ASACP as well.”

For 2018, The European Summit continues its generous, longtime support of the association by providing ASACP with sponsor status — including a complimentary hotel room and show badge, plus premium banner placement, an ad in the event’s show guide, a banner on the TES homepage, as well as other exposure on the event’s website and mobile app.

ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning is eager to attend this year’s event as he has often in the past, to educate site owners and other stakeholders about how they can protect their companies while protecting children on the internet.

As part of this outreach, Henning will moderate one of the event’s most vital educational sessions, the Age Verification Panel, which will feature the latest updates about the U.K.’s Digital Economy Act from the BBFC, including relevant dates, details on what homepages work, feedback from industry, reminders of the law and the need to comply, along with other current details from the industry’s leading AV experts.

The Age Verification Panel is set for Saturday, September 15, from 11-11:50 a.m. in the venue’s Prague B Seminar Room and features the BBFC’s Murray Perkins; AgeChecked CEO Alastair Graham; AgeID Director David Cooke; AVSecure CMO Stephen Winyard; and AgeGO Project Director Sebastien Moutte.

“Mandatory age verification remains the one of the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the adult industry today, and many stakeholders have questions about its implementation and timing,” Henning explains. “This panel will explore the newest changes in the law, how sites can comply, and what it means for the future of online age and identity verification.”

“The European Summit enables ASACP to reach decision makers from a broad, global range of online industries, many of which have age verification concerns,” Henning adds. “Thanks to the support we receive from TES, the association can spread its message of the importance of protecting children and reveal the tools that make it possible — and children will be safer as a result.”
