'Chaturbate: The Musical!' Premieres Next Week

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Cam network Chaturbate has inspired a musical — one that offers a fun, positive outlook of the cam industry.

“Chaturbate: The Musical!” premieres at the Hollywood Fringe Festival on Saturday, June 10, and runs through the month. The upbeat songfest, characterized in promo material as “where Broadway gets off,” was written by Dan Margules, with music by David Jayden Anthony and lyrics by Chris Edgar.

“Chaturbate: The Musical!” is about starry-eyed Broadway hopeful, Laura London, who has a dirty little secret: To make ends meet she takes it all off every night live on the internet. But when the producer of the family friendly musical she’s auditioning for discovers her online command performances, Laura's unwholesome double life threatens to end her stage career forever.

The production is directed by Denis McCourt, with music directed by Kevin Mathie. The stage manager is Morgan Aiken. Cast in the musical includes Theodore Georgios Crosby
Mackayla Hill, Miatta Ade Lebile, Matt JJ Miller, Tamara Philbrick, Chandler Reed and Richard Van Slyke.

Showtimes for “Chaturbate: The Musical!” are as follows: Saturday, June 10, at 8:30 p.m.; Wednesday, June 14, at 11 p.m.; Thursday, June 15, at 6 p.m.; Sunday, June 18, at 4:30 p.m.; and Friday, June 23, at 11 p.m.

The Hollywood Fringe Festival will be held at the Sacred Fools Theater at 6322 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, Calif. 90038. Tickets for “Chaturbate: The Musical!” can be purchased here
