ASACP Honors Its February Featured Sponsors

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for Feb.

This month, ASACP recognizes Gamma Entertainment, SDC Media and AdultWebmasterNet, “signifying their ongoing support of the association and its gratitude for the continuing commitment shown by these companies to making the internet safer for children.”

“As a non-profit association, ASACP survives on the generosity of its sponsors to continue its 20-plus-year record of success,” said Tim Henning, ASACP’s executive director. “It is only with this help that we succeed in its mission of keeping children away from adult-oriented materials. Honoring the association’s Featured Sponsors highlights those flagship firms that make a tangible commitment to the cause of online child protection.”

From its internationally recognized Child Exploitation Tipline, that has processed more than one million CP reports since its inception, to its popular Restricted To Adults (RTA) meta labeling system that aids parents by helping prevent children’s access to adult-oriented web pages and mobile apps, to its free educational tools, including market-specific “Best Practices” and universal “Code of Ethics” for businesses, mobile app publishers and website operators, ASACP is an active organization fueled by its family of sponsors and supporters.

ASACP’s Featured Sponsors “rank among the industry’s most celebrated and successful companies, offering inspiration for all operators as examples of self-regulation, corporate responsibility and ethical operation.”

Gamma demonstrates its leadership by using the RTA website meta-label to protect its sites and by donating rack space for two ASACP-owned servers located in the Gamma data center — providing useful material and technical support, as well as financial aid for the association.

Featuring listings of verified local swingers and swingers clubs, parties, events, speed dating and travel services, Swingers Date Club is an active sponsor of ASACP — helping in this fight by preventing minors from accessing its site by using the RTA label, and further protects visitors from unwanted exposure to sexually explicit imagery by not including this type of material on its home page.

“We work very hard to help the fight against child pornography on a daily basis,” SDC’s Dave Vdwouw said, noting that SDC.com has an active support staff that combs through the website 24/7 to ensure that no type of illicit activity is going on. “We take immediate action when rules are violated, and the violator’s personal information is always forwarded to the authorities.”

“SDC believes that possessing and receiving child pornography is a serious federal crime, and we will not stand for the abuse of children in any manner,” Vdwouw added. “It is a huge task to try to stop the victimization of children and we take it very seriously, along with our devoted members who are diligent in contacting us if they see anything that they believe to be hurtful or offensive. Child pornography must be stopped and we vow to do our part in fighting this battle every day.”

An ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2012, AdultWebmasterNet is a traffic services firm that sells and trades adult website traffic, putting the company in a position to view the material published by a wide range of adult sites. The company reviews all traffic requests to ensure it meets minimum standards, such as the lack of underage depictions or any allusion to them.

The company also publishes its own set of "Best Practices," which includes encouraging clients to become sponsors of ASACP and to adopt the RTA labeling protocol, helping spread the word about the need to protect children online.

“A shifting legal and political landscaping is presenting new challenges to the industry, and now more than ever, ASACP needs your help to raise awareness and protect children,” Henning finished. “ASACP’s monthly Featured Sponsors show that corporations can and do care, and work towards a safer future for youth and the industry alike.”
