Adult Empire Releases Annual Industry Trend Report

PITTSBURGH — Adult Empire has released its annual trend report, looking back on industry trends for 2016 and making predictions for 2017.

"Every year, we examine our best-sellers and look for trends that will drive the future of adult entertainment in (the new year) and beyond," said Megan Wozniak, director of marketing for Adult Empire. “The sales data clearly shows us what our customers are looking for, which enables us to create a more personalized, intelligent user experience."

The report “showcases the top ten trending adult film stars, top ten trending DVD genres, top ten trending studios and the top ten trending search terms,” Adult Empire said.

Julia Ann, the company said, “was overwhelmingly the 2016 AE fan favorite.” And viewers’ favorite genres ranged from BDSM with New Sensations' “The Submission of Emma Marx: Exposed” to interracial with Blacked.com’s “Interracial Orgies” to stylish romantic erotica with Digital Sin's “Lust Unleashed 9.”

Blacked was the #1 trending search term on the site for 2016, while Evil Angel was the top trending DVD studio and gonzo was the top genre of 2016.

"We continue to push innovation along with fans' personal suggestions and sales data; so far, it's been a good strategy," Wozniak said. "We are always working to consistently satisfy changing consumer tastes, especially as we head into Adult Empire's landmark 20th anniversary."
