HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — X-Play and Pulse Distribution have announced the release of director Will Ryder's "Not Traci Lords XXX '80s Superstars Reborn," a parody available via VOD on Sept. 28 and DVD on Oct. 4.
The concept of the film centers on what it would be like to cast today's adult stars as iconic 80s starlets, such as Traci Lords, Ginger Lynn, Amber Lynn, Christy Canyon, Bunny Bleu, Samantha Strong, Nina DePonca, Kristara Barrington, Nina Hartley, Mai Lin and John Holmes. "The legends are all here in living color," Ryder exclaimed while eating an enchilada at El Compadre on Sunset Boulevard. "They're all here being portrayed by a sexy cast of young adult movie starlets who were not even born when the icons of the 1980s were turning the VHS into porn's golden era. You have to understand that the 1970s had just ended and watching porn meant sitting in a huge 900-seat movie theater with a handful of other guys jerking off. Or walking into a cum-stained peep show booth with a cupful of tokens in your left hand and a glory hole to your right.
"The VHS tape in the '80s changed everything and these stars became very well-known as video stores popped up everywhere," he continued. "I remember visiting my first porn set around 1984 and being in the same room as some of these living legends while they did dialogue and had sex right in front of me. Hell, they were superstars to me even before they became huge superstars. I'm telling you it was a very special era. I still remember meeting Amber Lynn in 1984 and secretly following Ginger Lynn around a mall as she tried on shoes. I was star-struck."
Zoey Monroe, who plays fluffer-turned-starlet Bleu, remarked, "It's so cool being part of this project because I felt like we were stepping into history."
Mia Austin, who plays DePonca, stated, "I had no idea what the porn business was like back in those days until I did this movie. It was an amazing era."
"Not Traci Lords XXX '80s Superstars Reborn" features Lucy Tyler, Carter Cruise, Zoey Monroe, Mia Austin, Angelina Chung, Cameron Dee, Courtney Shea, Angel Del Rey, Ashley Graham, Gaia and Natasha Vega. The men playing the '80s talent, directors and agents are Tyler Nixon, Richie Calhoun, Kurt Lockwood, Eric John, Anthony Rosano and Jay Smooth, with Tom Byron as talent agent Jim South. Misty Stone, Byron and Ron Jeremy narrate the journey back to 1984.
Ryder concluded, "I think every young girl in this business should watch this movie."
