LOS ANGELES — Sex educator and Wicked Pictures contract performer jessica drake is encouraging industry members to join her and Team Wicked on Sunday, Oct. 23 at the annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles — which drake will lead for the fifth time.
Team Wicked raised $15,416 at AIDS Walk Los Angeles last year. Over the last four years, Team Wicked has raised almost $70,000 for the event, benefiting AIDS charities.
“Once again, I am so excited about Team Wicked and AIDS Walk Los Angeles and all the support we’ve been getting,” drake said. “Every year, Team Wicked is one of the top fundraising teams, and we really want to keep that going.”
Drake is speaking out on California’s Proposition 60 as well. The proposal will be on the state ballot in November.
“This year, we'll also be utilizing our platform and high visibility to increase voter awareness in an effort to defeat Prop 60,” drake said. “Our team t-shirts, banners and signs will say #NoProp60, and I’m asking everyone in the industry to support us and join in our effort to raise money for a cause that is very dear to our hearts and at the same time, help us educate voters. Also, as some of you may know, this is how I celebrate my birthday every year. So please join me after we cross the finish line for a champagne brunch."
This year, Team Wicked aims to raise $20,000 for AIDS Walk Los Angeles; so far, they have raised $5,500, or 28 percent of that goal — making it second among all teams participating. Drake herself has raised $2,800 for the effort.
