Lovehoney Scores Win at LIMA Licensing Awards

LAS VEGAS — U.K.-based sex toy manufacturer Lovehoney won Best Health and Beauty Licensee for its Motörhead Official Pleasure Collection at the 2016 LIMA Licensing Awards, which took place in Las Vegas this week. LIMA, short for the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association, is the leading trade organization for the global licensing industry.

Neal Slateford, co-founder of Lovehoney, said: "We're thrilled to have won such a prestigious award in the world of licensing. It's the second year in a row that Lovehoney has won a LIMA Award, and further proof that we are the go-to people for brands looking to break into the pleasure product market."

The Motörhead Official Pleasure Collection was up against Pearl World's Paris Hilton Cosmetic Collection and Hall & Associates' Shopkins hair accessories line.

Slateford said: "I think I can say with some certainty that this is the first time Motörhead have shared a line-up with Paris."

Lovehoney secured the exclusive worldwide licence to manufacture Motörhead-branded sex toys in 2015.

Motörhead, founded in the U.K. in 1975, was an iconic heavy metal/hard rock band led by the late singer Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister. Famous Motörhead songs included "Ace of Spades," "Snaggletooth," "Iron Fist" and "Bomber."

The Motörhead Official Pleasure Collection features four bullets and classic torpedo-shaped vibrators, all decorated with the band's logo and branding. The range "delivers the sort of power and pleasure you'd expect from the loudest band on Earth," Lovehoney said.
