C.J. Asher Live Tweets Starz' 'The Girlfriend Experience'

PHILADELPHIA Sex and adult entertainment blogger C.J. Asher live tweeted Starz' premiere of  "The Girlfriend Experience" last night at 8 p.m. EST.

Starz' series "The Girlfriend Experience" is based on Steven Soderbergh's 2009 movie of the same name, which featured adult star Sasha Grey in the lead role. In Starz' 2016 version, Riley Keough plays the lead role of Christine Reade, a second-year law student who enters the world of high-end escorting.

During and after Starz' show, Asher was available for commentary on the episode itself in comparison to the 2009 movie and answered questions pertaining to sex work based upon his own research. Fans were able to join in on the conversation using the Twitter hashtag #GFEPremiere.

"It was an enjoyable experience live tweeting the world premiere of a major network show, my first time doing so for my blog," Asher said. "As for the first two episodes, 'The Girlfriend Experience' is thus far a substantial improvement over Steven Soderberger's previous foray into the world of escorting with his 2009 film of the same name. My only major issue with the show is how easily the main character, Christine Reade played magnificently by Riley Keough is so easily drawn into the world of high-end escorting with little personal conflict over the potential consequences to her career as an aspiring attorney. If scenes from upcoming episodes are any indication, the ramifications of Christine's decision to escort will come full force pretty quickly. And I look forward to seeing how the story plays out."

In addition to interviews with adult stars, Asher's blog CJAsher.com features gentlemen's club reviews, adult industry news and a weekly calendar of upcoming events.
