Adult Star Amber Rayne, 31, Passes Away

UPDATED (Monday at 12 p.m. PDT): L.A. County Coroner’s Office said that Amber Rayne’s death was reported as a “possible accident, a possible overdose.”

LOS ANGELES — An autopsy will be planned for adult star Amber Rayne, who was found collapsed over the weekend at her residence in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Sun Valley

A Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office spokesman said that Rayne was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday.

"She evidently was with a friend. It was reported as a possible accident, a possible overdose," spokesman Ed Winter said.

Word of the news traveled fast over Twitter, Facebook and XBIZ.net Sunday.

XBIZ.net community ambassador Dee Severe, who runs Severe Society Films, said on the adult entertainment social network that she was “really heartbroken” about her passing.

“Amber was a good friend of ours, and a great performer,” she said on XBIZ.net. “We worked with her a number of times. An amazing, kind, genuine, cool person. This is awful....”

Rayne, 31, was nominated for an XBIZ Award in 2016 for Best Supporting Actress for her part in “Wanted,” in which she came out of retirement to film it for the film’s director, Stormy Daniels.

Born in Detroit, Rayne shot for Kink.com, Pleasure Productions, Dogfart Network, WaterBondage.com and Ultimate Entertainment, among many other studios. She worked as an extra in Hollywood films and TV shows prior to her porn career, which began in 2005.

Besides performing as an adult star with about 500 credits, Rayne also worked in the adult film biz as a director, a producer and an editor.

On Twitter, Ashley Fires said, “[She] Will be missed. As a performer. As an authentic human being. As a friend. My heart goes to her family and her horse.” Rayne was an avid horsewoman.

Satine Phoenix said: “Sending love to Amber Rayne's family. So much love to my dear old friend.”

David Lord said: “@Amber_Raynexxx she was a very sweet caring soul!”

Mia Li said: “Sending positive thoughts to all those touched by the loss of Amber Rayne. The brief times I got to meet her, she was always a sweetheart.”

Prince Yahshua said: "My heart is bleeding & my soul is crushed. There will never be another u, never ! @Amber_Raynexxx. Enjoy heaven as we all enjoyed u on Earth."
