VAN NUYS, Calif. — Pure Play Media has announced its congratulations for Josh Stone and his studio Trans500 for receiving Best Photographer and Best DVD Release honors at the 2016 Transgender Erotica Awards.

“Kaitlyn Gender: Based on a Not So True Story” is a parody release based on the exploits of trans-celebrity “Kaitlyn Gender,” played by trans performer Jonelle Brooks.

“Trans500 is one of the most popular studios for the TS genre and this award from the TEAs is definitely another feature in their cap,” said Adam H., vice president of sales for Pure Play Media. “Josh [Stone] has a keen and experienced eye for not only selecting the best performers in the genre, but knows how to best capture them on screen. We congratulate him on his many successes, and look forward to continuing to represent and provide his titles to retailers everywhere.”

“I took a lot of heat from my own genre when I first announced the ‘coming soon’ for ‘Kaitlyn Gender,’” Stone said. “A lot of people felt I was making light of a very sensitive situation. I’m thankful that, after people took time out to actually watch this release, perception changed; I think people now see it’s actually the total opposite.

“I’d like to thank the judges at the TEAs for seeing the real objective of this title, and rewarding us for our work," he added. "I’d like to also thank the reviewers at XCritic, for being the first to bring to light that this title was not offensive in any way. I feel this title, due to the media hype around the person who inspired it, caught the attention of consumers who previously may have not watched a transsexual title. Overall, I feel this was a win for our entire genre.

“As a director, it’s always refreshing to be recognized for your work; a lot of time and effort is put into every single production we do,” Stone continued. “Going into 2016, I just want to keep working hard to build the Trans500 brand, with new concepts and new ideas, in hopes to be one of the leaders in this new era of transsexual porn.”

“Kaitlyn Gender: Based on a Not So True Story” features cover model Jonelle Brooks, Ramon, Wendy Williams, Angelina Castro, Duncan Black, Toby Springs and Hannah Reese.

“I studied Caitlyn Jenner a lot, and really wanted to get her mannerisms: how she carries herself, and most importantly, her voice,” Brooks said. “I like that this movie also promotes positivity for trans people. I think there will be a new understanding of what the real Caitlyn went through, and I hope all my fans will purchase the movie.”

Dan C. of Die-Screaming.com called the film “fun and twisted,” describing it as “a porn parody that served as a fun-filled and not so serious send-up of the Caitlyn Jenner story, without ever feeling as if it were poking fun. Fans of Ms. Jenner could absolutely watch this entire movie and probably enjoy the hell out of it. That, in my opinion, is one of the true marks of a really great and well-balanced porn parody.”
