CineKink Announces 2016 Award Winners

NEW YORK — Following multiple days of screenings and parties culminating in its 13th annual awards show, CineKink has announced the winners of 2016’s adult film festival.

According to director and CineKink co-founder Lisa Vandever, who presented the awards at the closing celebration on Sunday, March 6, the overall quality of the films was consistently high this year.

“Congratulations not just to the winners tonight,” Vandever says, “but to all of the works for being part of such a stellar line-up!”

Among the accolades are the Audience Choice Awards, given to “The Red Umbrella Diaries” by David Kornfield for “Best Documentary Feature,” with “Schnick Schnack Schnuck” by Maike Brochhaus taking the nod for “Best Narrative Feature,” and an Honorable Mention award going to “Sector King Zulu King” by Maria Beatty and Nickel Dakota.

The annual CineKink “Bring It!” award, determined by audience ballot during a presentation of excerpts showcasing current adult cinema, went to “Houseboy” by Pandora Blake.

The CineKink Tribute, recognizing extraordinary depictions of kink and sex-positivity in mainstream film and television, was presented to the series “Broad City” by Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson/Comedy Central, for its “affirmation that women have raging libidos equivalent to that of any guy.”

Honorable mentions for the CineKink Tribute went to the television series “Inside Amy Schumer” by Amy Schumer and Andy Powell/Comedy Central; and “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” by Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna/The CW; and to the feature film “Magic Mike XXL” by Reid Carolin/Warner Bros. Pictures.
