LOS ANGELES — Cosmopolitan interviewed adult star Daisy Ducati about 'fin domming' as a financial dominatrix, wherein she satisfies the fantasies of clients with a money-spending fetish.
Unlike traditional domming, which Ducati describes as "fulfilling a fantasy for people and they tell you to do a thing," financial domination is "more about a person paying you just because they know it makes you happy."
While some fin dom fetishists enjoy being ignored and outright used, Ducati also offers "more of a gentle relationship" with public displays of gratitude.
"So I'll send them pictures or I'll tweet, 'So-and-so sent me X amount of dollars," she explained. "Sometimes they like the competition element of knowing they sent more money than someone else and knowing that my other fans are hearing about them."
Establishing clear guidelines at the outset is critical, Ducati says, lest clients feel scammed out of their money. For those wishing to be "used and abused," she makes sure the dynamic is "all negotiated and consensual" by using a financial application for people to specify what they are willing to spend, what their fetish is and where they are coming from.
"It's about income, dependents, what their budgets look like, what they're willing to spend, whether they're more interested in gifts or cash, just to feel out where I can go," she said.
Ducati believes that fin domming "has been around as long as finances have been around" and that the advent of the Internet only made the practice "a little more clearly defined now."
