Derrick Pierce Promotes GoFundMe Campaign for Christmas Toy Drive

HOLLYWOOD — Derrick Pierce has announced his seeking of contributors for a GoFundMe campaign to finance a Christmas toy drive.

Pierce is part of a group that annually sponsors the Winter Wonderland Toy Drive, which benefits underprivileged youths in Pacoima, California. This year marks the ninth year of this event, and with more than 400 children to sponsor, Pierce and his group are looking for assistance with the event.

“I am really committed to this cause,” Pierce says. “Most of these kids don’t really have a Christmas and these gifts will most likely be the only ones they receive.”

“We host a toy drive, we sort the toys, we deliver and distribute the toys to the kids directly,” Pierce adds. “This isn’t some random toy drop off/fundraiser deal where we just do some promo and leave. We stay for the day and hang out with them.”

The Winter Wonderland Toy Drive is set to take place at 11251 Glenoaks Boulevard in Pacoima, Calif., on December 20, from 12-4 p.m., and will feature food, vendors, raffles and more.

Cash donations will either be forwarded directly to the facility or used to purchase more toys to ensure that every kid receives a present.

To date, the GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $1,100.

“We want to give these kids the best holiday party they have ever had. Our goal this year is $5000,” Pierce concludes. “I know we can hit this number with ease. And to make sure that we do I’m offering my services as a fitness instructor as a perk.”

Adding incentive to the fund raising campaign, Pierce is making a special offer to anyone that donates $200 or more, by providing one month of online fitness training for free.
