The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health Fundraiser Celebrates 5-Year Milestone

PAWTUCKET, Rhode Island — The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health (CSPH) raised $16,560 at the recent "Affair to Remember" fundraiser event, which celebrated their five-year milestone as a sex-positive adult educational organization.

Funds will support the CSPH mission to offer pleasure-based sexual health services, challenge sexual shame, address misinformation and advance the field of sexuality.

"'An Affair to Remember' was a huge milestone for the CSPH," Program Manager Kira Manser said. “It was an incredibly fun and powerful night, reflecting on everything we as an organization have accomplished. It showed both the CSPH's fun and serious sides as well! We got silly, and posed with large stuffed reproductive organ plushies in our photo booth, and also talked about the ways our work impacts people's lives, keeping them from feeling broken or ashamed of their desires. We appreciated everyone who came out and celebrated with us, and can't wait to see where we'll be in five more years!”

New England artists showcased custom dinner plates at the fundraiser, in an art installation called "A Place at the Table," which honored significant historical moments in the field of sexuality. They were auctioned off during the event, along with silent auction items like wellness packages and a weekend stay in the Berkshires.

Sponsors for the evening included Amazing Intimate Essentials, The Miriam Hospital, Blush Novelties, Giant Microbes, RIFuture.org, Partners in Sex Education, Lucky Bloke, Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance, Sybian, National Sex Ed Conference and Good Vibrations.

“Since 2010, we have worked to educate people and spark dialogue, especially around topics that may be very difficult, in service of creating a more sexually literate society and promoting sexual health and wellness,” said CSPH founder and executive director Megan Andelloux, a clinical sexologist. “The CSPH is uniquely qualified to lead this conversation as an organization founded and governed by certified sexuality educators, licensed social workers and practicing physicians.”
