Girlfriends Films Named Best DVD Company Overseas 2015

VALENCIA, Calif. — At the eroFame trade convention in Hanover, Germany, last week, Sign Magazine honored Girlfriends Films with the Best DVD Company Overseas 2015 Sign Award.

“Girlfriends Films is doing great work being as a popular production company and a successful distributor at the same time,” said Patrick Mallaise, director of sales and marketing for Sign Magazine. “Its range of films, with long-term runners like ‘Women Seeking Women’ and a lot of new formats in the lesbian sector, are amazing, and the work of director B. Skow is fantastic as well.”

The company is known for producing lesbian sex movies with an emphasis on realism and naturally beautiful performers, like the award-winning "Road Queen" and "Lesbian Seduction."

Based in Valencia, Calif., the studio was founded by Dan O'Connell and Moose in 2002. Since then, Girlfriends Films has expanded its production and distribution businesses through key partnerships, adult movie sales, a membership site and a broadcast channel on Hustler TV.

"We’re very appreciative of the Sign Awards Committee and the staff at Sign Magazine for this amazing recognition and honor,” Girlfriends Films President Moose said. “It’s been our mission to provide the highest quality of content onscreen and service to our partners, colleagues and consumers. We’re very grateful to everyone who has supported us and helped us grow over the years.”

XBIZ has previously recognized the company's success with the 2011 XBIZ Executive Leadership award for Moose and the 2012 XBIZ Man of the Year award for O'Connell. Recently, XBIZ named Girlfriends Films the 2015 Distributor of the Year - Video.
