ElectricDistro.com Moves to New Business Management Software

NEW YORK — ElectricDistro.com reports that it has implemented the SAP Business One enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

According to the company, it moved to the software two years ago and is now completely transitioned to the new system. In May, ElectricDistro.com opened the doors to its new, state-of-the-art warehouse situated in South Bronx, New York.

ElectricDistro’s Robert Rosen says SAP Business One, which is designed for small to medium businesses, is more than an ERP system, and has become essential to the company’s operations.

“The efficiency that we run our business now has greatly improved with this system,” Rosen said. “It centralizes business from China to our New York warehouse. It has improved operations by eliminating a lot of the redundancies and costs. It’s a more sophisticated system that allows us to focus on our core business  — which is designing the best products and offering affordable pricing.”

From ERP to inventory management, Rosen says SAP Business One now allows ElectricDistro.com to operate with transparency.

“It can produce reports, weekly and monthly, that break down the cost of products not only in terms of production, but also different components — the packaging, the materials used, etc. — to help us become more efficient.”

Rosen adds, “There’s other ERP software out there but I don’t know how we could’ve done business without it.”

Rosen says the company will later integrate more complex SAP products to continue to improve efficiency.

ElectricDistro.com serves an international clientele of major and independent retailers and distributors in regions that include the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Denmark, South Africa and more.
