Costa Rica Bash Wraps

JACO BEACH, Costa Rica — The Costa Rica Bash offered a little bit of everything for the adult webmaster — informative seminars, networking events, happy hours, jungle ATV tours, rainforest canopy tours and even surfing lessons with Shane’s World contract star Casey Parker.

As adult webmasters continue to arrive home stateside after the show wrapped, show organizers said the gathering, which was attended by around 160 people, was a huge success.

“We have only heard positive feedback from everyone who attended and regrets from those who couldn’t make it,” IwantU.com Director of Special Projects Keith Bussey told XBIZ. “We did have a problem with some flights, meaning some people couldn’t make it down, which was unfortunate, but other than that the show went off without a hitch. We’ll definitely repeat this show for 2007.”

While the primary focus of the Costa Rica Bash is networking opportunities, show organizers offered a trio of seminars for business-minded attendees.

“The opportunities to talk to people for more than five minutes also led to many people getting business done, as well as the seminars being well attended and informative to relevant offshore topics, which get hotter by the day,” Bussey said.

The legal advice seminar discussed legal issues for foreign companies, 2257 issues, spam and the benefits of moving offshore. Two other panels covered offshore banking and a discussion panel featuring a cross section of industry folks.

“This was one of the best legal seminars I ever attended,” adult industry attorney J.D. Obenberger told XBIZ. “The audience was very sophisticated and there was a good atmosphere in the room. The legal seminars were extremely informative. Of the 48 legal seminars, this one was one of the best I’ve been involved with; if not the best, then damn close in terms of real value.”

Bussey’s most memorable moments from the show were the announcement of Bob “YNOT Bob” Rice joining Lightspeed Cash, the owner of Bodog.net Calvin Ayre joining the party, and Casey Parker doing an impromptu dance at a local strip club.
