APN Slates U.K. Age-Verification Networking Event

LONDON — The Adult Provider Network, in association with sponsors Intelligent ID, Callcredit and W2 Global Data, has planned to present a U.K. networking event next month to connect adult webmasters, video-on-demand operators and broadcasters with identity, age-verification and payment solution providers.

“With the Conservatives having made a manifesto pledge to make age-verification mandatory for all adult websites irrespective of jurisdiction, and now looking set to make good on that promise with little opposition, there is a pressing need for adult businesses, whether on or offshore, to consider the implications, involve themselves in the policy debate and more importantly identify compliant solutions,” APN said.

Chris Ratcliff, an organizer of the APN event and managing director of Portland Broadcasting Ltd. and RHF Productions Ltd., said the format will include a speed pitching session.

“Each solution provider will get exactly 69 seconds to explain how their product or service differs from the next guy,” he said. “This will be followed by informal networking drinks provided by our sponsors.”

So far, solution providers set to attend and give pitches include Aristotle, Callcredit, Experian, GB Group, Hello Soda, Intelligent ID, Oxygen8, Sedicii, Veridu, VeriMe, W2 Global Data, Xcreds and Yoti.

Ratcliff is currently seeking other solution providers to attend as well. For more information, contact him here.

The event, scheduled for Thursday, July 2, between 3-6 p.m., will be held at the Lights of Soho, London's newest gallery and members club that includes a neon homage to the decadence of Soho's yesteryear in a former Brewer Street brothel. Lights of Soho is located at 35 Brewer St., London W1F 0RX.
