LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures has announced that production has wrapped on Axel Braun's most ambitious superhero film to date, "Batman v Superman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody."
The second title in the new Wicked Comix imprint after "Barbarella XXX: An Axel Braun Parody," which was just released last Wednesday, is slated to street at the end of May — nearly one year before Ben Affleck and Henry Cavillget to battle it out on the big screen.
Shot over a three-month period, the dark and dramatic story finds Giovanni Francesco, Ryan Driller, and Brendon Miller reprising their roles as Batman, Superman, and The Joker, with Francesco playing the Caped Crusader for the third time and Driller delivering his fourth performance as the Man of Steel.
“Ryan is becoming the Hugh Jackman of porn!" joked Braun in a reference to Jackman’s seven-time portrayal of Wolverine in mainstream movies. “I am very lucky to have such extraordinary leading men, and I must applaud their absolute dedication to this project. Brendon, who retired from performing last year to focus on his music career, flew in from Texas twice without hesitation to reprise the role, and his Joker is possibly even creepier than the first!”
After an extensive talent search — including a Los Angeles casting call — Braun assembled a stellar supporting cast comprised of such rising stars as Kleio Valentine as Harley Quinn, Alison Tyler as Wonder Woman, and 2015 XBIZ Best New Starlet & Best Actress winner Carter Cruise as Supergirl. In a fitting acknowledgement of Braun's penchant for using costumes which surpass the fidelity of their mainstream counterparts, a leaked photo of Cruise as the iconic Maid of Might recently went viral in social media, sparking comparison with the costume chosen by CBS for Melissa Benoist in the upcoming TV Series.
"As a hardcore comic fan, I believe that never in a million years should a porn parody have better superhero costumes than its mainstream counterpart, and yet we managed to have not only a way better costume, but also a terrific actress and performer in the role," Braun said.
"Everything you’ve heard about Carter Cruise is true, she is absolutely outstanding, and her portrayal of Supergirl is beyond perfect. And then there’s Alison, who really nailed the essence of Wonder Woman: a sexy, badass warrior princess who exudes sensuality. She comes into the movie toward the end, but her torrid three-way scene with Bats and Supes is one for the ages."
With Braun, the three-time XBIZ Director of the Year, once again lending his comic-geek cred and perfectionism to the superhero genre, Wicked said fans can look forward to "special effects galore and imaginative production design."
For his part, Wicked Pictures President and Owner Steve Orenstein couldn't be happier to see Braun returning to the superhero genre to craft the second Wicked Comix release.
"When I signed Axel at the end of 2013, he told me he wanted to take a break from superheroes and focus on diversifying his repertoire," Orenstein said.
