Rapture Novelties Introduces Six-Piece Spreader Bar Set

LOS ANGLES — Rapture Novelties is now offering a full set of stainless steel spreader bars to complement its line of stainless steel bondage products, VP of Sales Lewis Adams told XBIZ Wednesday.

The set includes six spreader bars in various sizes ranging from 6 inches to 30 inches in length. Each bar is polished to a silvery smooth finish and designed to be a complementary product to Rapture’s other stainless steel items such as cuffs, collars and shackles.

“There are spreader bars available, but this is the only set of six different sized bars available for sale,” Adams said.

“All of our fetish gear is designed like Legos. You don’t have to buy an entire bondage set at once. You can buy just handcuffs today, then ankle shackles the next month. If you are looking to add to your collection, the spreader bar is designed to attach to your existing Rapture gear.”

Adams said Rapture, the 2014 XBIZ Best BDSM Products Company, has manufactured this bar set with features that make it unique from similar spreader bars on the market. The bars are made of high-strength, stainless steel alloy tubes, while the end rings are welded to the tubes for force integrity. These welded rings will withstand over a thousand pounds of tension force, the company said.

The welds were constructed to blend and conform to the bar without burrs or sharp-edged nuts and bolts. There also are welded midpoint rings for additional bondage-play alternatives on five of the longer bars — the 6-inch bar is the exception. The welded construction along with the steel tubes “offer superior strength with a lighter weight bar,” according to Rapture.

“With the ‘Fifty Shades’ phenomenon, fetish and bondage sales have seen tremendous growth,” Adams said.

“I do a lot of in-store demonstrations for the sales staff and I am told often that the customers look for quality. That’s great to hear. I tell them that after your customer buys the cheap fuzzy handcuffs for the first time — and they return after they break and ask if you have something better quality for a little more money — that’s Rapture.”

The Rapture spreader bar lengths are: 4.5 inches, 6.5, 12, 18, 24 and 30. The set is sold in a reusable velvet cloth bag suitable for storage and transport.
