LOS ANGELES — Last week former TS starlet Mia Isabella spoke with Daily Dot reporter EJ Dickson in a candid interview about how the adult industry regards TS women, as well as the trans industry as a whole.
Isabella explained to Dickson how the appeal of TS women has “exploded” in recent years in the adult industry, which she attributes in part to the increasing visibility of transgender rights activists, such as Janet Mock and Laverne Cox, in mainstream media.
“The number of mainstream opportunities offered to me and my level of exposure in the mainstream industry has increased dramatically,” said Isabella, who has appeared in the FX show “Sons of Anarchy” and the video game “Grand Theft Auto V.”
“The increasing popularity of TS porn has led to more freedom for performers in the niche as well,” she continued. “While the niche has traditionally been operated by males and targeted to a straight male audience, girls now have their own sites and branding. We have more room to do our own thing.”
