MyGirlFund Girls Parody Men’s Dating Profiles

LOS ANGELES — What happens when an Australian bachelor decides to make fun of women’s dating profile photos, and the parodies go viral? Parodies of his parodies, of course!

The ladies of social media site MyGirlFund.com have joined in the fun with a contest to find and playfully mock the best male profile photos on dating sites, with three winners taking home cash prizes for their efforts.

According to the company, MyGirlFund (MGF) is a social network that connects men with women who are seeking intimate friends willing to help them achieve their financial goals. Its pay as you go business model motivates members to participate actively in community building and inspires them to create, share and market content as well as develop personal relationships with other members.

Recently, Jarrod Allen, a bearded Australian man, posted a gallery of himself parodying female profile pictures he found on Tinder, a well known dating app. Allen goes the extra mile to recreate the girls’ poses, expressions and outfits and the results are hilariously uncanny. The intent isn’t mean-spirited. He’s mocking awkward poses but making himself look even more awkward than his subjects. And there is just something intrinsically funny about a male reenacting quintessentially female poses.

Continuing that logic, MGF decided there was something innately funny about a female imitating quintessentially male poses. MGF organized a contest and asked their community of nearly 10,000 women to submit photos of themselves reenacting guy poses on dating sites.

“MyGirlFund has many creative young women with terrific senses of humor and we think the contest allows those qualities to shine,” says MyGirlFund’s Stefan Patrick. “@tindafella’s awkward parodies of quintessentially female dating site profile pictures are hilariously uncanny. We wondered what a reversal of roles would look like and challenged our community to submit their own recreations of quintessentially male dating site photos.”

“Our members know how to take compelling and creative self-portraits and many are also gifted with terrific sense of humor,” Patrick added. “As you will see, the girls rose to the challenge, taking the piss out of guys like @tinafella did with girls. We think this contest will give the public a glimpse of how fun and engaging MyGirlFund girls are.”
