Pornhub Launches Music Label, Pornhub Records

LOS ANGELES — Pornhub announced in a Billboard interview that it is launching a music label called Pornhub Records, signaling that the adult entertainment website is edging towards a more mainstream audience.

Pornhubs record executives Corey Price and Matt Blake made the announcement, with Blake explaining that they have “always seen a strong music presence from the beginning of Pornhub."

“Artists upload their own stuff, like uncensored tracks and R-rated versions of songs," added Blake, who is the head of PR and marketing. 'Some people come in and upload exclusive videos, so it creates a buzz for them.”

Well-known artists like Coolio, Xiu Xiu and FaltyDL have already produced videos with the new label, the Daily Mail reported.

Pornhub Records is also holding a song contest that asks artists to compose and submit a Pornhub-themed song. The grand prize does not include a record deal with the label, but the winner will score $5,000 to produce a music video, a featured spot on Pornhub TV, and "minimum 500,000 views guranteed."

Currently playing on its contest landing page is the submission is "The Pornhub Anthem" by Walter West ft. Sam London.

“We're looking for acts that aren't necessarily porn-focused,” Vice President Price clarified for those who associate Pornhub with its hardcore roots.

“We're an ad-based network looking for content that appeals to our demographic,” he continued. “Mature lyrics for an adult audience. No boy bands or teen-pop, for instance.”
