Video: Girlfriends Films Completes 'Ice Bucket Challenge'

VALENCIA, Calif. — Girlfriends Films executives on Monday took the so-called "Ice Bucket Challenge," a charitable cause that recently went viral in support of the ALS Association.

ALS, or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.

In addition to Girlfriends Films founder Dan O'Connell, Sales Manager David Diamond, director B. Skow and owner Moose each dousing themselves with buckets of ice water, Girlfriends Films has also donated $1,000 to ALSA.org.

Before they took the challenge, each of the Girlfriends Films execs called for others to join the cause and take the challenge.

Moose called on Vivid co-chair Steven Hirsch, XBIZ owner Alec Helmy and director Jules Jordan; O'Connell called out agents Mark Spiegler, Sandra McCarthy and Derek Hay; Diamond named LFP president Michael Klein, Hustler Hollywood VP Theresa Flynt and Exile president Howard Levine; and Skow called out performers Evan Stone and Dana DeArmond, and writer David Stanley.

"Our reason for doing this is to raise awareness about ALS within the adult industry," Moose said. "Social media is being flooded with everyday people and celebrities doing the 'Ice Bucket Challenge,' and we think it is important to show the adult industry is equally supportive of charitable causes - something we strive to do on a regular basis with the Girlfriends Films Charity Program."
