Showtime's '7 Deadly Sins' Features Dennis Hof's Sagebrush Ranch Brothel

CARSON CITY, Nev. — Oscar-nominated director Morgan Spurlock is featuring Bunny Ranch empire king Dennis Hof’s  Sagebrush Ranch brothel in Showtime’s “7 Deadly Sins” documentary set to air Aug. 21 at 11 p.m. PDT.

Hof's ranch will be spotlighted in the show’s segment on “Lust” — as one episode of a seven-part series that explores modern-day interpretations of the so-called “seven deadly sins” of ancient religious lore.

The late-night half-hour program is the brainchild of Spurlock, best known for his hit film “Supersize Me,” and he narrates throughout the production, introducing and closing each episode, and commenting along the way.

The film crew spent several days at the Sagebrush Ranch brothel in the state capitol of Carson City, shooting the working girls — known as the “Sagebrush Starlets” — recording interviews with prostitutes and customers alike, and documenting the daily behind-the-scenes life inside a busy all-American brothel.

Hollywood, a top earner at the Sagebrush, was interviewed with James, her “significant other” of more than six years. They discussed how they kept their relationship healthy and stable in spite of Hollywood having sex with other men on a daily basis.

“We found the Showtime people to be very professional and comprehensive in their approach — I think they shot some amazing footage of what life in a brothel is really like, stuff that no one has ever seen before,” Hollywood said.

The Sagebrush girls display themselves in a customer “line-up,” booking a client, dancing sexy on a stripper pole, and even instructing on how to perform oral sex correctly. The working girls also reveal-all their personal lives, such as prostitute Kristi Kiss, who although a grandmother of nine, is still going strong at the brothel.

Some reviews have called the show ”A show you are supposed to gawk at,” and “Dark, twisted and wildly entertaining," to “Purposefully carnival-esque” and “Proves that truth really is stranger than fiction.”

Hof's flagship legal Moonlite Bunny Ranch is featured in the long-running award-winning HBO reality TV series "Cathouse."
