Pornostagram Changes Name to Uplust

CYBERSPACE — With a new name, new look and new features, Pornostagram.com, a social networking platform that welcomes hardcore images and sex talk, has changed its name to Uplust.com in an effort to avoid any confusion with the popular Instagram hub.

The company noted that Pornostagram was officially launched in Europe in July, 2013 where it has become the first “naughty social network” without censorship where users could take pictures, apply filters to them and send or share them via private or public accounts.

In March 2014 Pornostagram continued its targeted expansion and launched in the U.S. and South America. According to the operators, the Pinsex-like site has amassed more than 82,000 registered users and 1.2 million page-views per day.

The company’s concern over Instagram’s brand protectiveness, coupled with its banning of apps that have "insta" or "gram" in their names, prompted it to ask users to vote on a new name. 7,361 votes were registered in three days, and 73.8 percent chose the new moniker — Uplust.

In addition to its new handle, a new support center and new site functionalities will also debut soon on the uncensored network, the company added.
