SAN DIEGO — Astrological signs may well determine the odds of people filming themselves having sex, according to study results collected by Homegrown Video. The company is a leading producer and distributor of amateur porn.
Statistics collected by Homegrown Video over a six-month period found people with the astrological sign of Sagittarius, or those born from Nov. 22 to Dec. 21, are most likely to produce and submit a sex tape for public consumption than those of other astrological signs.
“We’re surprised to find those born under certain astrological symbols were more likely to submit sex tapes than other people under other zodiac signs,” said Homegrown Video owner Farrell Timlake.
“We’re not advocating belief in astrology, nor encouraging any other such belief, but it is interesting to see certain people are more likely than others to record themselves having sex for others to see.”
Sagittarians are said to crave adventure and excitement and are open to change as they consistently seek knowledge and wisdom, says the website Zodiac-Signs-Astrology.com. They are said to be natural entertainers and conversationalists.
Altogether, the top three zodiac signs that submitted sex tapes for public distribution were Sagittarius, with 12.53 percent; followed by Gemini (May 21 to June 20) with 11.57 percent, and Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22) with 10.36 percent.
The least likely to zodiac sign to submit a sex tape was Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19) with just 3.86 percent. According to Zodiac-Signs-Astrology.com, Capricorns are said to abide by self-discipline and responsibility and tend to evaluate everything and not take risks without weighing the advantages and disadvantages first.
The study’s statistics are from data collected between Sept. 1, 2013 and Feb. 1, 2014, from respondents across the world.
Homegrown also found 48.2 percent of those submitting tapes were between the ages of 20 and 29. Those between 30 and 39 were the second most likely age group to submit tapes, making up 35.7 percent of submitters.
The age range, years they were born and percentages are as follows:
20-29 (1985-1994), 48.2 percent
30-39 (1975-1984), 35.7 percent
40-49 (1965-1974), 12.5 percent
50-59 (1955-1964), 3.3 percent
60-69 (1945-1954), 0.3 percent
70+ (1944 and below), 0 percent
The study also found the average age of those submitting videos was 32 years old.
Homegrown Video found 56.9% of all submissions were from women, supporting recent reports of increased female acceptance and participation in pornographic material, as producers, as well as consumers.
