LOS ANGELES — Smash Pictures will be launching its sister studio Pink Velvet in March, Stuart Wall of Smash confirmed to XBIZ today.
Created and titled by Smash owner Dan Quinn, Pink Velvet aims to capture what many studios believe is an ever-growing number of female viewers.
Pink Velvet will feature high-end lesbian films expressly developed for women, as well as straight titles, and will showcase both female and male directors.
Wall, Smash’s vice president of sales and production, said the studio’s premiere release will be “Secret Life of a Lesbian.” Diverse themes will follow, including interracial, anal and teen titles.
No specific release date has been set for “Secret Life of a Lesbian,” but details will be forthcoming.
